Richard Beckinsale Missing from main cast list

Why is there no mention of Richard Beckinsale on this Wikipedia page?! He co-starred in this sitcom for the first 3 series, yet is completely absent from this page. He was such a well known actor in the 70s and went onto to co-star in the 70s comedy classic Porridge with Ronnie Barker. Richard, the father of the well known actress Kate Beckinsale, sadly died prematurely and deserves to be acknowledged and remembered. When I search for "Beckinsale", I see six mentions of his name in the article body, both in the "Production" and "Critical reception" sections. Were you expecting him to be mentioned in the lead section? Pinging The Drainpipe, who has been heavily involved in this article, for their thoughts too. The lead section is pretty light overall, so I'm not surprised that he's not mentioned. But it doesn't seem like Rising Damp even mentions any actors either. Personally, unless you want to really work on the film article, I think the Beckinsale mentions in the article body are sufficient. I have always been impressed with the level of info on Wikipedia pages and even contributed money each month for the past couple of years. The simple addition of Beckinsale's name to the main cast ensures Wikipedia maintains accuracy. You just need to view the opening credits on YouTube from the pilot onwards, until he left, to see his name is directly after Leonard Rossiter and before Frances Del la Tor and Don Warrington. Excluding his name from the main cast is inaccurate and not what I've come to expect from Wikipedia... 92.14.57.36 (talk) 11:53, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I feel like I am not understanding what you want. Beckinsale did not appear in Rising Damp (film) because he died. Why would he be added to the main cast? The film article's lead section focuses on who appeared in the film. The "Production" section says, "Richard Beckinsale, who appeared in the first three series of Rising Damp but was absent from the fourth due to theatre commitments, was intended to take part in the film. Beckinsale's death in March 1979 led to his character of Alan Moore being written out of the film and replaced by a new character, John Harris." At the sitcom article Rising Damp, Beckinsale is named in the series infobox's "Starring" parameter. Not sure if you're getting the articles mixed up?
