Identity

[edit]

ISNI gives full name Richard Allen Jacobson, among other data [1] for which it identifies general sources that include national libraries of Spain (BNE), Denmark (DBC), and Canada (LAC). Canada gives "Rick Jacobson", Canadian nationality, and birthyear 1959 [2]. Denmark gives no distinct biographical data and evidently conflates multiple Rick Jacobsons [3]. Spain gives no distinct biographical data but notes "WWW LC auth. file, 26-3-2009" [4], which means finding a U.S. Library of Congress Name Authority File (LCNAF) online in 2009. I don't find Jacobson identified by LC now (neither at LOC.gov nor via VIAF.org). I don't know how to find ISNI sources ACCE and BOWKER.

The U.S. Library of Congress does identify Jacobson's ex-wife and co-illustrator Laura Fernandez --that is, LC believes it has distinguished her from other people with the same name. Its 12 catalog records apparently for her works cover 12 distinct books illustrated, one solo published in 1986 [5] and eleven with Jacobson published 1995 [6] to 2008 [7]. It also says "Laura Fernandez illustrates with husband, Rick Jacobson; they live in Toronto" citing the dustjacket of Little Dog Moon (2000) [8].

In the same catalog I find 12 records of works by Rick Jacobson, unidentified, covering the same 11 books co-illustrated with Fernandez and one 2010 video disc of the film Bitch Slap, which was directed by another Rick Jacobson [9]. --P64 (talk) 16:07, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
