Service record

[edit]

Abraham, B.S.: I have commented out the suggestions that Leakey participated in Operation Slapstick (he was not in the Airborne Division; his unit arrived in Italy after Taranto was taken) and served in Korean War (his unit arrived in Korea in December 1953). Do we have sources to suggest otherwise?

I've also tried to reconcile the details of his post-war service from the Independent obituary, Who Was Who and the archive of his papers. Corrections welcome, of course.

Must read his autobiography! -- Ferma (talk) 19:16, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ferma. I simply added the infobox to the article, filling it with the details as present in the body. If you believe, based on reliable secondary sources, that there is an error in the article or infobox, then please feel free to correct it. Cheers, Abraham, B.S. Hi. Ok, I have already commented out those points I could not confirm from a reliable source. I just wanted to check if you had another source that said otherwise. No problem. -- Ferma (talk) 19:24, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I recommend his autobiography: might be available from your local library. It is edited by George Forty, who has inserted a section at the beginning of each chapter explaining the background within which Leaky was operating.Exbrum (talk) 15:46, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
