Awards won removed
[edit]I removed this section because it is impossible. The Golden Raspberries are awarded for the WORST categories, not best.
- Won:
- Best Picture
- Best Screenplay
- Best Actor (Sylvester Stallone)
- Best "Original" Song (Peace in Our Life)
- Nominated:
- Best Supporting Actress (Julia Nickson)
- Best Director (George P. Cosmatos)
- Best New Star (Julia Nickson)
But still those are won awards, even if negative. Returned back. Phresnel (talk) 08:53, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Quote
[edit]I like Rambo quotes as much as the next guy, but the quote on this page was way too long and also incorrect. The quote had Trautman saying "the war, everything that happened here maybe wrong, but damn it don't hate your country for it" and Rambo replying "hey, I'd die for it." Why the hell would Rambo say, "hey, I'd die for it"? He says, "Hate? I'd die for it."
Anyways, if we started putting in our favorite quotes from movies, every Wiki page would become cluttered trash. That was a great scene from the movie, but that's what it was, a scene - not a quote.
external links
[edit]This page had no external links, so I added links to stallone's official site, IMDb, and Moviecheat.com. That last is my own; it provides synopses and spoilers, and there's some great stuff in our Rambo articles. It's totally legit and content-based; I'm a real person and it's a real site, and I think truly worth linking from here. Here's our First Blood Part II page: [1]. I've checked the rules and it shouldn't be a problem to add this as long as it's relevant and informative. But if anyone truly has a problem, feel free to revert.Rasi2290
Sadly your page now gives a DNS error. Evidently moviecheat.com no longer exists. C'est la vie. The link has been duly removed as well. Doctorx0079 (talk) 01:45, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Metal Gear Solid
[edit]The section that discusses the Rambo franchise vis-a-vis Metal Gear Solid is nothing short of inane superfluous trivia. And that's me being charitable. Why has Metal Gear Solid been singled out? Perhaps the similarities are striking; however, one could well argue that Rambo has influenced countless genres and mediums.
This section should be deleted, or moved to the article on Metal Gear Solid.

- It's really sub-sub-trivia; the film was very influential, and dozens of computer games borrowed elements from it, or copied it wholesale. It would suffice to mention the three most notable examples, with quotes and sources to attest their notability, in such a way that it is relevant and interesting to a general audience, one that does not play computer games. Although Rambo was derided as mindless jingoistic action drivel, it nonetheless was a major news event at the time - President Reagan praised it publicly, which is more than can be said for On Golden Pond or Kiss of the Spider Woman. It seemed to catch America's mood in 1985. It deserves more than this article, provided people can find sources. As it stands, the Influences section is in danger of becoming one of those meaningless, context-free trivia dumps, e.g. "in the episode of The Simpsons with the snowplow, Homer Simpson wears a bandana just like Rambo. In the episode of Futurama with the jungle planet, a character that looks like Rambo can be seen. In an episode of Family Guy, there is a reference to Rambo. In The Princess Bride, Fezzik looks a bit like Rambo", that kind of thing. My rule of thumb is that if an article has a trivia section, and the trivia section mentions Futurama, the article is doomed. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 22:04, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
trivia section
[edit]I erased a couple of requested citations regarding Rambos military service and destroying a POW camp. All you have to do is watch the movie to get the answers. Murdock claims Rambo had 59 confirmed kills. He also destroys the POW camp/village. You can watch clips of it here.

Important Question
[edit]What service branch do the Russian soldiers in this movie belong to?--Arima (talk) 03:25, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
Characters section
[edit]Do we really need big descriptions of the characters in the Characters section? The Story section already says basically the same things as the IP editor wants to add. -- Doctorx0079 (talk) 03:58, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

Mexican
[edit]Dear IP,
just because the film was shot in Mexico as well, it does not necesarily mean it would be a co-production.(KIENGIR (talk) 11:02, 21 March 2021 (UTC))
