[edit]It seems unlikely that the first syllable is pronounced with a long I. Can someone familiar with the place please provide an IPA pronunciation? Thanks. — Goueznou, 12.107.67.3 18:28, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- I've always heard it pronounced as Who-Knee-Me. Someone else will have to translate that into IPA code. BlankVerse 12:32, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Grew up here. It is pronounced "Why-Knee-Me". 69.232.85.248 02:48, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
I don't see the "Advertisment" at all, quite factual to my reading... Please site the promotional elements..! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nbase41 (talk • contribs) 07:53, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
Port of Hueneme
[edit]The link in the Port section is circular because of the redirect. Maybe someday the Port of Hueneme will get its own page since one is a city and the other is harbor district.
I don't know enough about editing but there should at least be a link to Port's website. Fettlemap (talk) 00:56, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
I am becoming a more experienced editor so I found "Maritime history of California" and made the corrections. Also found "List of North American ports" and made a change.
At some point, a page for the Port of Hueneme will be created and the redirect can be removed. Beginning as Hueneme Wharf, built in 1871 to serve the farmers of the Oxnard plain, the harbor has an interesting history. Fettlemap (talk) 03:27, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
