No. Philip John was her father. Philip Jeremiah was her brother. The article is correct as is.

Birth date

[edit]

Change Peggy's birth date to September 24th. This is the date of her birth according to the Schuyler Family Bible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.168.151.38 (talk) 19:25, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide a source. Thanks. -- Dane talk 19:29, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Transcription from Schuyler Family Bible (translated from Dutch) "1758 19th September- Margaret- Lord Give her peace on Earth & everlasting Glory" If there is a way for me to post a picture in here I can, but I don't know how. (I work at the Schuyler Mansion, Peggy's home until marriage.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.168.151.38 (talk) 14:51, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you're willing to make the photo public, I can post it to Wikimedia Commons for you and then add it to Wikipedia, or I can explain to you how to do it. If you want to send me the photo, my email address is william dot r dot mckern at gmail dot com.

[edit]

Please change the header image from the current image to "Mrs. Stephen Van Rensselaer," unknown artist, from the Fixman Collection at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Library (a copy of the image can be found on author L.M. Elliot's website (http://www.lmelliott.com/lauras-blog/so-who-and-peggy/), or in the exhibit at Schuyler Mansions State Historic Site because the current image is from the collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art, and is identified as Susan Corens Towers[1], not Peggy Schuyler. Thank you. ADotChurch (talk) 17:29, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done: @ADotChurch — I have removed the image for now (and requested a rename on Commons in light of this), but have not replaced it with the image offered, since it is not immediately clear if that image is free for use. Can you provide an image that is either freely licensed, or clearly in the public domain? cymru.lass (talkcontribs) 19:19, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@cymru.lass Sorry for the long delayed response - I have now tracked the image to "A Godchild of Washington" a nineteenth century memoir which is available in the public domain here: https://archive.org/details/cihm_03975/page/n427 The original artist is still unknown. --ADotChurch (talk) 16:30, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

[edit]

It would be nice to have a picture of her if one exists. Can anyone find an engraving or portrait? American In Brazil (talk) 13:29, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Birth name

[edit]

change birth name from Margarita to Maragrita. The latter is the Dutch name she was baptized as. It also says so in the existing bible page of her parents. Please change it from "Margarita" to "Maragrita". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.217.19.126 (talk) 11:55, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. GoingBatty (talk) 19:44, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Relationship with Alexander Hamilton

[edit]

The affair between Angelica Schuyler and Alexander Hamilton is contested speculation. This article references it as fact. 2601:285:500:A300:70C6:3DDF:A105:2903 (talk) 12:32, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The cited sources make it clear that the affair is a fact. If you have better sources, by all means include them. Billmckern (talk) 13:50, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
