The result of the move request was: Not moved. Paulinho (footballer born 1988) moved to the simpler Paulinho (footballer) pending any evidence that other footballers with that first name are ever known as simply Paulinho. (non-admin closure) Red Slash 23:31, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
– Paulinho (footballer born 1988) is the only person listed on the current Paulinho article who is commonly known simply as Paulinho, he is also significantly more notable than the other players (e.g. he has played 17 times for Brazil).
"Ronaldo" and "Ronaldo (name)" are a similar example to this case. Benjaminj0 (talk) 16:43, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

- Sigh. These are the hazards of ignoring WP:STAGENAMEs of Brazilian footballers in favor of artificial disambiguation via full names. Normally a title like Paulinho (footballer born 1988) should be moved to Paulinho (footballer) when the latter is red, but it's clear that there are other footballers of that name, hence the extra-precise disambiguation for this one. That redlink is misleading; according to their articles, Paulo Sérgio Betanin, Paulo Sérgio Mota, Paulo Luiz Beraldo Santos, and Paulo César Urnau are also known by their mononyms.
- I'm skeptical at this time of primary topic claims. Paulinho b. 1988 has been big in the news recently, between his Confederations Cup performance and his transfer to Tottenham, but with at least four other articles involved, I'd rather wait a bit to confirm primacy. (And to make matters worse, Beraldo Santos is also a 1988 birth.) --BDD (talk) 20:53, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose - no evidence of primacy, and when I first read the recent news reports about Paulinho I thought they were referring to the Livorno player. GiantSnowman 09:39, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
