Relevance?

[edit]

Are the last two paragraphs relevant to this article? They're very specifically about Queen, rather than Paul Rodgers.

I've taken it upon myself to delete them for that reason.

The last paragraph before the discography is gibberish - can anyone make sense of it? Bretonbanquet 11:54, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Better

[edit]

The original opinion herein of Paul Rodgers having a great voice but mediocre song writing abilities has been replaced with the truth that he is a force, and i'm grateful

Neutrality

[edit]

I have removed sections of the article in order to bring it in line with Wikipedia policies on neutrality. Please see WP:NPOV and WP:BIO for more information. The article read like something from a fan site instead of an encyclopedia article. More work may be needed to make this article objective. Ground Zero | t 12:56, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No other artist has led four bands to global success (Free, Bad Company, The Firm, The Law) ... Apologies, but I think this sounds like standard PR hyperbole and I question whether it's even accurate. For example, what about about Eric Clapton (take your pick from The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominoes, the Eric Clapton Band). I would also question whether either The Firm or The Law really achieved global success. --David T Tokyo 09:47, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality

[edit]

I think it pertinent to include Rodgers' nationality in the first line of the article - it's a normal inclusion for a biographical article. Therefore I have included it. Anyone who doesn't agree should enter into a discussion here on the talk page rather than reverting to something else or deleting parts of the article. Repeated reverts accompanied by a refusal to discuss is considered vandalism and usually results in someone getting blocked. Bretonbanquet 23:54, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is it relevant to mention in the opening paragraph that he is British-Canadian when he didn’t gain Canadian citizenship until he was over 60 years of age? It didn’t shape him and didn’t occur until long after his fame had been accomplished. Someone reading that right off the bat will assume that he was raised in Canada.

relationship with queen

[edit]

how did this collaboration happen , im assuming he was a friend of freddie?

More a friend (not sure how close) of Brian actually. They'd known each other for some time. Brian guested on a track on the Muddy Water Blues Album. Also if you check the acknowledgements (i.e. Thanks to...) on Brian May's first solo album "Into the Light", you'll find Paul's name included. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.137.99.94 (talk) 21:37, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Private life

[edit]

The article says that Paul has two children from his first marriage. In fact he has three, two girls and a son. The other daughter is apparently a nurse back in Paul's original hometown of Middlesborough. I remember Paul once stating this in an interview. Can anyone provide detail for the main article? Ukcommando (talk) 21:45, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You mean his original hometown of Middlesbrough - (spelling). I live there. Francis Hannaway (talk) 07:25, 9 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Bold as Love" cover

[edit]

Slash and Paul Rodgers with the Band of Gypsys recorded a cover of "Bold as Love" for the 1993 album Stone Free: A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix. This seems to be a different version than the one listed in the 1990s: The Law and solo career section. I would like this to be added to this paragraph in the proper chronological order. What's the right way to do this? GoingBatty (talk) 15:52, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
