Date of birth and death

[edit]

I don't think it's common practice to cite the source of dates of birth and death, but for the record, they come from pages 124-125 of Who’s Who in Orthopedics, published by Springer, London in 2005. ([1]) Wikipeterproject (talk) 01:05, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nancy Hulston

[edit]

Hey WikiPeterProject; I note you removed the information that Nancy J. Hulston is the archive curator for the Harrington Archives. Here's my argument for including it in the first place - she's the author of several of the sources that the article cites. It's relevant to the article in terms of understanding the origin and perspective of those sources. Should we put it back in? - DustFormsWords (talk) 01:52, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it's convential to do that. If the sources are good, they stand in their own right. We don't need to go overboard in "defending" the article from deletion. The problem with including her is that it's not particularly relevant to the subject of the article (the article is, after all, not about the archives, but about the man). Also, if she changes jobs, would we amend the article to name her replacement? I think it's probably better to leave her out. Wikipeterproject (talk) 02:03, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good, okay. - DustFormsWords (talk) 02:04, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Great! And thanks for the work on the page! I'd never heard about Harrington until I accidently came across his page today. I end the day a more knowledgeable man! Wikipeterproject (talk) 02:17, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
