Text about climate moved from article

[edit]

I've moved this text about the climate from the main article, since Wikipedia is not a tourist guide. However, it might still be useful, so I'm preserving it here. Graham87 02:18, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

* It's important to note, during the wet/green season (May thru Oct/Nov), the climate is what we locals like to call "Super Trop" with outstanding lush greenery. With the exception of the presence of a Tropical Cyclone in the South China Sea (we don't get tropical cyclones in Phuket), most wet days get only orographically generated monsoon rain showers (usually very hard and refreshing in the mid afternoon or early evening lasting about 1-2 hours) and afterward the sun returns to complete a beautiful tropical day. It's fair to say these kind of days account for well over 50% of the days with measurable precipitation shown below. With regard to the Global Warming Effect, it seems Phuket is getting more rain in the dry season and less in the wet season, also it's more difficult to predict when there will be Tropical Cyclones.
