So what a passkey is? Before continuing to usage and advantages, the article only states it is a credential. But so is password. And so is username, too. What does make the passkey special? GoldDragon256 (talk) 13:05, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, i'm reminded of locally stored SSH certificates to access some remote host, as a credential.
If the passkey credential is compared directly with the other side (like PAP), i'd think it would be more secure to compare some computational result based on the passkeys of both sides (like CHAP), where the credential does NOT get transmitted. 93.238.245.90 (talk) 07:57, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
