Why the name "U-Go"? What does it mean? Languagehat (talk) 15:24, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistent Casualty Numbers

[edit]

At the top of the article and in the info box it states that the japanese losses were 30,502 dead and 23,003 hospitalized. However under "Impact" it lists 13,376 dead for the japanese. I understand sometimes these numbers can be difficult to estimate and vary across sources, but I think in this case given that the allied casualties match up, those two present vastly different impacts for someone reading about this theatre. One, a pyrrhic victory for the allies, and another an overwhealming victory. Is there a way to resolve this sort of thing?RugnirViking (talk) 18:38, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

G'day, if you can get your hands on the cited sources and can confirm that they are both talking about comparable periods and causes, I'd suggest dealing with it by comparing and contrasting the different figures in the body of the article, then adjusting the infobox to display a range that incorporates the two figures (assuming the sources are reliable).
