Trendy-Third Inappropriate
[edit]I do not see Lake Oswego referred to as "Lake No-Negro" on Wikipedia, nor Stark Street between Burnside and Broadway as "Vaseline Ally", or Deep Southeast as "Felony Flats". And one should not. This "Trendy-Third" has no place in an encyclopedic article. --Satyricrash 04:36, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- I beg to differ. I think all of these nicknames are potential candidates for inclusion -- it all depends on notability and significance, which need to be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Surely you're not suggesting that only content complimentary to a place or topic should be included? Including widely-used (and published, etc.) nicknames for a place I think is helpful to the reader in conveying a sense of local culture and politics. At least for "Trendy-Third", I'd argue this is the case. --ScottMainwaring 08:25, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with Scott. --Usslakecounty (talk) 09:46, 21 December 2008 (UTC)--Usslakecounty (talk) 09:46, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
