@Dgonzal8nscc: We welcome your suggestions and requests as someone with significant knowledge of this college. But as an employee paid to promote the college you should not be making anything but the most uncontroversial of edits to the article yourself. For example, your edits introduce external links into the body of the article and make the article clearly promotional which are both violations of Wikipedia policy and practice. You also uploaded a copy of the college's wordmark to commons, claiming that it's been released under a Creative Commons license and that you personally own the image, neither of which are likely to be true.

We would very much like to work with you to improve this article and keep it accurate and up-to-date. But you and your employer do not control this article and its contents. You do not get to unilaterally impose your views against the objections of other editors. Please make suggestions and requests here in Talk. ElKevbo (talk) 13:29, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am in no way imposing information. Just updating with facts that are on the public domain and college website. The most important changes that are important to note are the following:
Current version:
North Shore Community College is a public community college in Massachusetts with campuses in Danvers and Lynn. The college offers over 80 associate degree and certificate programs to approximately 10,000 students a year from the 26 cities and towns along the coastal region from north metropolitan Boston to Cape Ann. North Shore Community College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.
Expanding the information to the following:
North Shore Community College is a public, non-profit, 2-year institution of higher education created by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1965 to serve residents living on the North Shore.
Established in 1965, North Shore Community College (NSCC) is one of the oldest of the 15 community colleges in Massachusetts. Operating from campuses in Lynn, and Danvers, serving 26 cities and towns along the coastal region from north metropolitan Boston to Cape Ann.
Since its founding in 1965, NSCC has grown from a single building to two campuses, and from five to over 50 academic programs. Dgonzal8nscc (talk) 13:47, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We can start here and continue the conversation. Dgonzal8nscc (talk) 13:47, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's reasonable for us to add some of that information to the article, especially if you can provide us with some reliable sources that support it. Certainly the year of the college's founding and its growth since then would be a good addition.
I don't think we need to change the first sentence as you suggest. In particular, I disagree with removing "community college" from that sentence as the opening sentence of an encyclopedia article should clearly define the subject. We also typically omit "non-profit" the introduction of articles about colleges and universities in the US as the vast majority of them are non-profit so we usually only include "for-profit" for those that are exceptions. We also need to include the subject's location in the first sentence as part of its critical definition.
I also don't think that it's a good idea to include the number of community colleges in the state in this article. It doesn't seem like necessary context. And it's the kind of thing that is really challenging to keep up-to-date (I know that this particular number doesn't change very often but the general point stands).
