Article Expansion and re-write

[edit]

I have given this article a large expansion and re-write. I have tried to follow a format similar to that for reading railway station. I have also introduced the adelante service to the service table and edited the articles for the other stations on the line to include this and ensure consistency.

Although I have been making edits of varying size on wiki for some time now, this is by far the largest that I have done in one go. Obviously any comment/criticism is welcomed.

I have tried to include as many references as possible but it would be fair to say that some of the edits come from my own knowledge and could be removed (esp those regarding the use of the sidings/loop). Does anyone know how to reference a timetable? It doesn't have an author or publisher.Grizzlyqi 19:40, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First of all great job mate. The old saying is be bold! and i can't fault you on that. From a brief overview (and not knowing anything about this part of the world) i think you've done a good job. As for citing a timetable, if you look at the various option offered by the "cite" template, you can actually cite organisations that don't have a specific author (publisher would be National Rail - ie ATOC i think). Keep up the good work, and don't hesitate to ask questions! Pickle 22:45, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for info. Found that the timetable is available in .pdf online so referenced that. Will of course need updating when a new timetable is produced. Would perhaps be better if the National Rail timetable was cited but I don't own a copy of that. Maybe when I find the time I'll edit the article for Newbury Racecourse. It is only a very minor station but it has 3 through platforms and used to have 4. Might be some interesting history in connection with the race course.Grizzlyqi 08:24, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
