[edit]While initially appointed as a Progressive Conservative, on March 28, 2006 she joined the Conservative caucus.
i'm not 100% clear on the specifics, so i don't feel confident in changing it myself.. but the progressive conservative party merged (with the canadian alliance party) into the conservative party... so this sentence seems lacking.. it sounds like she switched party allegiance, but the party itself changed. --Sensorsweep (talk) 13:24, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- Despite the party merger, Nancy Ruth was one of several senators who initially refused to designate themselves as members of the new party, and instead retained the "Progressive Conservative" designation — only later on did she actually switch her affiliation to the Conservative Party.
