List of titles

[edit]

The list in the article is very large and overwhelms the prose about the company. I think it should be moved to a separate list page, or to a category by categorizing each anime and then linking to the category page. Does anyone else agree? Which method would be better? Foobaz·o< 06:54, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I tend to prefer a category, however precedence seems to be to go with a separate listing article. AnmaFinotera (talk) 08:55, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Content

[edit]

Something's wrong with the coding at the bottom, the external links and categories aren't showing, basically everything below "Distribution of property by ADV Films". Can anyone figure out what's causing the problem? RogueJedi86 10:20, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, fixed it pretty easily. Just needed to close off a ref tag. RogueJedi86 10:24, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for Closure

[edit]

I think that it is very important to note the reasons for Geneon's closure, directly and indirectly. And by indirectly, I mean piracy. J-Head (talk) 03:57, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you can provide actual verifiable sourced content for the reasons of closure, from reliable sources not rumors, then yes, it would. Otherwise, speculation and rumors go in forums, not here. AnmaFinotera (talk) 04:08, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
While piracy may or may not to have been to blame (I don't have evidence either way), one thing that must have hurt the company was the prices of the DVDs. I can't say I know the business decisions for charging the unusually high prices, but it was enough to scare off a good number of customers, IMHO. The prices of Geneon DVDs was one reason I started renting instead of buying. The rental store even complained that even for them the prices of the DVDs were high. If people can't afford to buy your product, then you encourage people to find other sources. The North American market is not the Japanese market and finds it hard to pay high prices. Prices did end up dropping, but by the time it ended up happening it may have already been too late. Some links http://www.theanimeblog.com/anime/anime-news/our-thoughts-on-geneon/ , http://www.zannen.ca/node/213 . Beyond user comments in other places on the web, I don't have any good references showing to what extent their disks were more expensive that the equivalent offerings in North America. --AJ Mas (talk) 02:25, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Neither of those are reliable sources. --Farix (Talk) 10:22, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV template without ongoing discussion per Template:POV instructions

[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 18:33, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
