the book

[edit]
this book is horrible and depressing!
And? Talk pages are for discussing how to improve the article, not for discussing what the article is about. Even if it was, what do you expect to get other than people arguing "No it's not! It's the best book ever!" and other people arguing "No way! The book sucks!". What'd be the point?

I havent read the book yet, but my teacher told me about it so i went out and bought it. I cant wait for the movie to come out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.137.116.25 (talk) 14:33, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

who actually cares, that doesnt exactly tell me anything about the book... 84.70.196.249 (talk) 20:29, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is it based on a true story, if so links? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.44.9.97 (talk) 02:42, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

this book is amazing!!! jodi picoult is the bomb and i love her. read this book if u havent already. it is really sad but overall teaches u great themes about life and really gets u to appreciate what u actually have in life. dont miss out and watch the movie too!

It mentions Brian being a homosexual firefighter, was that someone's idea of a joke or is his hidden homosexuality a sub-plot in the novel? I just watched the movie with my wife, who read the book, she cannot verify if he was indeed homosexual in the book or not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.223.126.166 (talk) 05:20, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Based on real story?

[edit]

I would like to know if this is the fact based story from years ago? Sounds like it but I don't know for sure? 74.46.140.240 (talk) 18:24, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, this novel is not based on a real story. Rotideypoc41352 (talk) 07:54, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Plot summary: The Ending

[edit]

The very ending (the last twist) of the book is omitted in the article. Is that how it usually is made? --NMeden (talk) 18:53, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Who is Brian?

[edit]

You'd think that might be an important thing to add since he's mentioned so often. Is he the dad? Or is he just some random firefighter they know? 107.10.232.29 (talk) 15:33, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
