inappropriate map

[edit]

I scrutinised the map recently, but did not find any cities wriiten in the Pakistan occupied Kashmir and Muzzafarabad is therefore invisible on this map. Please substitute it with a more appropriate, it does not belong here, but instead to the article about POK! Bogorm (talk) 10:19, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Having faced no objections, I fixed the problem by replacing the general map lacking cities with a more convenient one, where the city is clearly discernible. Bogorm (talk) 12:28, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

use of the term "Pakistan-occupied Kashmir"

[edit]

"Pakistan-occupied Kashmir" is a propaganda term used by India to describe the area controlled by Pakistan; hence it is not neutral. It should be replaced by an internationally recognized term such as "Pakistani-administered Kashmir" (the official term used by the Pakistani government is "Azad Jammu and Kashmir"). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.101.105.127 (talk) 08:15, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Three tehsils

[edit]

The name of the three tehsils are not quoted; the first, good, the second, unreadable, the third missing; as page protected I can add the missing information. Furthermore, this is the page of the CITY, please move the district relevants infos to the DISTRICT article.--88.19.49.50 (talk) 21:29, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hindi/Urdu spellings of the city's name

[edit]

A lot of people have been trying to put the Hindi name of the city into the page, which is inappropriate from both the Indian and Pakistani views

1. Pakistani view - straight forward. Hindi is the language of India which does not control the territory.

2. Indian view - Muzaffarabad is "rightfully" part of the "State" of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir's official language is URDU, not Hindi. Hence, Muzafarrabad, even if part of India, would not be spelled in Hindi, only in the legally recognized language of Jammu and Kashmir as per article 370.

Railways section

[edit]

The closest railway stations are Rawalpindi in Pakistan and Baramulla in India.[1] Jammu and Kashmir (India) Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said that he intended to extend the Kashmir rail line to Muzaffarabad, to facilitate movement of people and goods much easier across the LoC.[2] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.158.185.50 (talk)

The page isn't protected, but I added your section anyway. Cheers, — Bility (talk) 19:47, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

India have revoked Article 370 under which some part of Kashmir (Previously known as Pakistan occupied Kashmir) is now a union territory of India and comes under Indian administrations, which includes Muzaffarabaad making Muzaffarabad an Indian city. Please refer to the latest political map of India. Kashmir and Jammu always have belonged to Kashmiri Pandits (Hindus), and entire territory of Laddakh and Jammu n Kashmir was, is and will be an unalienable part of India. 171.60.146.16 (talk) 04:26, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This has nothing to do with Article 370. India has always claimed and continues to claim the whole of the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan too does the same. Wikipedia only represents the territories actually administered by each country in our maps and territories. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:07, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
