Merit

[edit]
  • He certainly merits an article. There should be a short bibliography, though. Overall I find this piece a bit superficient; some more factual information is needed. And the heading should be "Belge, Murat Kadri."
  • Given that he is not a historian or a well-known oftenly quoted person, is it necessary to include the phrases from his speech, or how he was commented by the media? Doesn't this make the article look more like a newspaper clip rather than an encyclopedic entry? DeliDumrul 01:25, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ottoman Armenians During the Decline of the Empire

[edit]

Murat Belge is not mentioned as being involved with the organizing committee by this reference[1]. Therefore, I'm removing said reference. If someone has a reference that indicates Belge's involvement, please feel free to add it to the article. Kansas Bear (talk) 13:20, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Academic Career Inconsistencies

[edit]

In Career, it says: "Since 1996 he has been a professor of comparative literature at Istanbul Bilgi University."

In Personal Life and Education, it says: "After the military coups of 1971 and 1980, he was compelled to leave academic life..."

The two military coups cited were nine years apart, so this is confusing and needs elucidation.

If the date of 1996 is accurate for his return to academia, then there needs to be something said as to why this was possible.

There are no sources cited for any of this information. Can someone who has the interest and the resources fix/expand this topic a bit? Zlama (talk) 01:23, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.

The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.

Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 05:37, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
