Move?

[edit]

Text (currently) say the 'place' is now known as Mount Penang Parklands, so maybe it should be moved to that name?
Or is Mount Penang Juvenile Justice Centre the WP:COMMONAME? 220 of Borg 06:14, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is a tricky one. The Heritage Register, from where this content came, uses both interchangeably. I think one solution might be to actually split the article in two and have Mount Penang Juvenile Justice Centre for the historical content and Mount Penang Parklands as an article about the current site less dependent on the heritage register content. It gets really tricky because all of the history of the site is about the significance of the one prison, but the many and varied developments on the current site (including continued criminal justice usages) gets utterly confusing - made more difficult because the Heritage Register doesn't clearly locate any of the heritage stuff in relation to the various current usages of the site. Maybe just a redirect from Mount Penang Parklands (and any other 'pseudonyms':The Farm Home for Boys, Girrakool and Kariong Juvenile Detention Centre) to Mount Penang Juvenile Justice Centre then perhaps, per K.I.S.S.?
Does the 'Justice Dept', 'Juvenile Justice Dept/Commission', whatever, have staff historians we can get info from? 220 of Borg 06:22, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, you could try, but given the state of the public service these days I wouldn't get my hopes up. The Drover's Wife (talk) 07:25, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have just come across this and created a redirect from Mount Penang Parklands in the meantime. And actually, while I'm at it, will also create others suggested by 220 of Borg. (I'm a great fan of redirects!) Laterthanyouthink (talk) 07:13, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
'Fan', me too, have fun Laterthanyouthink. 😛 220 of ßorg 10:27, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
