Perhaps it should be in the Mitchell Duneier article that "Slims Table" is a non-fiction book about guys who are regulars at the "Valois Cafeteria" which TODAY is right in the middle of Hyde Park, Illinois. This South Chicago neighborhood, which was once an autonomous town by itself, is currently the place where Senator and now President-Elect Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are from. I believe Barack has been known to go to this cafeteria himself, but I can not say he is one of the characters in the book "Slims Table" although there is a politician in the book. Actually the date of publication of the book is a year before Senator, President-Elect Obama lived in the Hyde Park Neighborhood.
Perhaps it should also be in this article that Spike Lee was once associated with a possible tv series project based on the book "Slims Table."
I am not certian on whether the book "Slims Table" could have it's own Wikipedia page or not.
