userbox
[edit]I created a Userbox for umr grads, if you want to modify it to say something else feel free but keep it on the topic of attending or graduating from UMR.Template:User_umrSir hugo 14:32, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Cool. Thanks. Would you object to changing the color from flourescent green to kelly green? ENDelt260 22:27, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oooor... it isn't Kelly Green, but maybe consider something like this (the green is the same green they use on the "patch logo") ENDelt260 23:05, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Section on university housing
[edit]@Adavidb the sentences you restored are sourced. But there is still the question of WP:UNDUE. The one sentence states that housing is available on campus. That is not relevant information. The second sentence states that a few years ago, buildings were razed and a parking lot installed. That, again, is not really relevant. What would be your reasons for maintaining an entire subsection with this minimal content? -- Melchior2006 (talk) 05:54, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- As the Greek life section remains, which involves a minority of students, I believe a section on university housing is due as well. Agreed, it should be expanded with relevant information, and former building content would better belong in the Campus section. Two of the Quadrangle buildings remain and are now used for university offices. —ADavidB 07:10, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
Undue Detail about Dean Wilson in Tau Kappa Epsilon
[edit]@Jmnbqb thanks for asking me about this edit. I deleted the bold script part of "Wilson served as dean of the school from 1941 to 1963 and was a member of the school's Tau Kappa Epsilon chapter" -- not because it was underdetailed, but because it was overdetailed. Your edit looks like it is boosting TKE. Since a lot of the university's administrators were members of a fraternity, listing all of this information is just too much. -- Melchior2006 (talk) 06:09, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

Missouri University of Science and Technology → Missouri S&T – WP:COMMONNAME. Theparties (talk) 14:26, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. The full name provides a WP:TITLECON consistent naming convention across all articles on universities and colleges in the United States. Many reliable sources like Forbes and US News and World Report still use the full name. The OP has also made numerous individual RMs on this same issue like this one, which may violate WP:ACROTITLE or use a shorter common name that is rarely used outside a sports/athletic context. Better to stick to the status quo. Zzyzx11 (talk) 14:43, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose as unnecessary, unwise, and confusing for readers. ElKevbo (talk) 14:52, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
