difficulty of question
[edit]Do the questions get more difficult as the value at stake goes up ? He once said the questions are random.. but it seems that when its the last question for $1 M, its an atrociously hard question... something that got printed at page 35 of the newspaper ONCE one day in 1935 sort of hard.
(Like Kevin on Eggheads said about the question that cost him the head to head at "politics" . Its not the sort of information you will learn by research.. ( Meaning the question must have been derived by randomly picking some report out of some old news paper.. or it was a special relevance to the question writer.. Who was 3rd in the 59th race of 1959 at Albion park ? 58.164.10.14 (talk) 13:55, 5 April 2014 (UTC)
- I'd generally consider that the questions do get more difficult in the usual fashion of Millionaire and its other formats. retched (talk) 05:11, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
Wrong rule
[edit]"If the first contestant answers the first five questions correctly, they are awarded an additional $1,000"
I have never heard of that, and I have watched the show since it started! DaveDodgy (talk) 15:11, 1 October 2015 (UTC)
- I got confused by this as I read it and watched some videos on YouTube. I changed the text so that it says that the contestant that is in the hot seat being asked the final question is awarded the $1,000 if they get it wrong. And technically it's only if the game isn't thrown out by the producers. See Points 57 and 58 on the Terms and Conditions for playing the game. retched (talk) 05:10, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
Running time is at least 40 minutes
[edit]We say it goes for 30 minutes. That is also what appears in every published official TV guide. But that is crap. Tune in at the official starting time of 5:30 and you'll discover you've missed the first 10 minutes, maybe longer. It always starts at around 5:20, sometimes even slightly earlier.
What do we say about this? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 22:29, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
What's Phone a Friend?
[edit]This article talks about some "traditional Phone a Friend". But there's nothing explaining what that was. Either remove all such references or explain what that was and when it existed. 1.126.108.14 (talk) 10:02, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
The rules contain elements of roulette and musical chairs
[edit]Millionaire Hot Seat is basically Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? mixed with elements of roulette and musical chairs. 71.168.230.90 (talk) 20:45, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
