I've corrected the translation of "A niechaj narodowie...", but I do not know english enough to be sure it is correct. Old translation assumed that "Poles are not geese", what would be good translation if quote has been written nowadays. In fact, quote was written some centuries ago, when polish language was a bit differen. In this case it should be understood, that poles have not language of geese (i.e. latin, which was used widely instead of polish). They have their own one - polish language. I think I see now what you're saying, which could be rendered as:
Let it by all and sundry foreign nations be known
that Poles speak not a goose's but a tongue of their own.
or perhaps:
Let it by all and sundry foreign nations be known
that Poles speak not Anserine but a tongue of their own.
Do you feel certain that that better renders the poet's thought than the following?
Let it by all and sundry foreign nations be known
that Poles are no geese—they have a language of their own.
How can one be sure? And quite apart from which is the more accurate version—which is the one more worth keeping in English?

Do tego co czytał" ("To What He Read," 1562).

[edit]

i think "do tego co czytał" means "to that (man) who was reading (have read) [that book] "
