Fair use rationale for Image:O07 ip.png
[edit]Image:O07 ip.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Negative slant to article
[edit]I would agree with the editors in the "Comments" section above that the article does now appear to have developed a wholly negative slant. This seems to have been introduced in the re-write at this diff. Having the phrase, "it is really unclear what advantage is gained by using Infopath" in the first sentence of the Microsoft Infopath#Functionality section, swiftly followed by,
it's unclear why you would want to have data captured in a tool like Infopath for which there are very few skilled users compared to the multitude of Excel users. Also Infopath fails to import Microsoft's own Excel spreadsheets, and truncates its own exported Excel sheets, so data exchanges between Infopath and Microsoft's Word and Excel are difficult in many cases. Since Microsoft Word and Excel are the most common of all Microsoft desktop products, failure to smoothly exchange data with them is Infopath's biggest shortcoming.
The development section also seems to 'talk down' Infopath, and the sentence, "Unfortunately, Infopath cannot export data into Microsoft's own database management system, SQL Server" does not appear to tally with Microsoft's own documentation. I don't know enough about Infopath to re-write the article; I am considering reverting to an old version unless anyone objects? --Kateshortforbob talk 09:33, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- I concur that the article appears for more slanted to be "anti-InfoPath" rather than explain how the application functions. I suggest reverting the article, and possibly add a section encapsulating criticisms of the solution when compared to other tools, Office or otherwise. Joe JJC (talk) 19:56, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Updating 2010 icon to 2013 icon
[edit]I hope someone can update the 2010 icon with the new 2013 version when the time is right.
The new icon is at: File:Microsoft-InfoPath-2013-Icon.svg

Positive slant bias
[edit]This text "Because of InfoPath's superior user experience and ease of data entry, it is often preferable to manipulate databases through it." has a positive slant without evidence to support it. Recommend modifying this to "Because InfoPath has a different user experience and approach to ease of data entry, it may be preferable to manipulate databases through it for some users." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevemidgley (talk • contribs) 12:35, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hi. Both the original and the recommended sentence are the point of view of one editor and original research, not to mention the fail to make any sense in the context and may only be correct in one company or office. So, I deleted the sentence.
