Suggested page move
[edit]The title of this page implies the article will deal with culture of several kinds of microorganisms, but as far as I can tell what is described is culture of bacteria. This page should either be moved to bacterial culture, or it should be expanded with more information about other types of microbial culture. // habj 14:06, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Ways this article can be improved
[edit]The history section should be expanded on. Perhaps continue highlighting developments in culturing techniques.
The article would also benefit with a section talking about what goes into culture media such as nutrients, carbon sources, nitrogen sources, minerals, growth factors, dyes, etc.
This article could also use a paragraph explaining what stock cultures are and describing how to keep them pure. It would be good to emphasize the difference between stock cultures and growing cultures for diagnostic/other purposes as well. L. Elizabeth Turner (talk) 03:55, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
