Clean-up?
[edit]I might suggest that you do a bit of editing to this article, with special attention to grammar and sentence structure. Just a thought.

McDermott Tidbits
[edit]The American Association was re-established in 1969 and lasted through 1997.
From my memory of listening to Kansas City Athletics games on the radio as a child: McDermott was a good-hitting pitcher, and often pinch hit and pinch ran. The A's shortstop Joe deMaestri was such a crummy hitter, that often when pitching McDermott would bat 8th and deMaestri 9th. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.70.156.3 (talk) 19:39, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Conflicting dates of birth
[edit]mlb.com lists his date of birth as August 29, 1928 while baseball-reference.com lists it as April 29, 1929. Bob305 (talk) 03:37, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
- Career statistics from MLB, or Baseball Reference, or Baseball Reference (Minors)
- They now both agree on April 29, 1929. Bob305 (talk) 03:45, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
