This quote is often attributed (online) to d'Azeglio. Did he say it? Other sources says this well-known expression is "actually a misquotation, [even though] it captures a sense of the work that goes into nation-building." I'm almost certain I've seen this quoted by Hobsbawm (although I can't remember where) and I've definitely seen other historians attribute it to him. Capt. Eduardo del Mango (talk) 19:36, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
