Article Bias

[edit]

It seems that the article on Congresswoman Fallin has been written by a staff member. It reads like an essay about her and does not mention anything substantive.68.97.56.103 22:22, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For sure! They just removed posts on her trooper gate scandle and on her bail out vote despite multiple sourcing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.245.108.60 (talk) 03:48, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the article badk to the original form where her infidelity and her bailout vote was mentioned. Whoever is editing this out needs a lesson in ethics and integrity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.245.108.60 (talk) 03:54, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted the re-addition of this material, which does not appear to comply with Wikipedia's policies regarding neutral point of view and biographies of living persons. --Arxiloxos (talk) 03:59, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The alleged 'trooper-gate' is unsourced, unverified, and rumor. Wikipedia does not publish rumor. It is unethical and will be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.164.207.53 (talk) 08:46, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article falsely states that she was born and raised in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She was born in Missouri. Who wrote this PR garbage? The committee to re-elect Mary Fallin for Governor? Ron Helton, Tecumseh, Oklahoma

The article says nothing about what she did before her 1990 run for the Oklahoma House. Did she just graduate from school and run for office as her first job, or did she have some sort of life between college and politics?

Birthplace discrepancy

[edit]

The text claims that she was born in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, but the infobox indicates Warrensburg, Missouri. Rammer (talk) 05:16, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy, which I've clarified. The reliable biographical sources all say Warrensburg; the confusion probably comes from the fact that many articles describe her as a "native" of Tecumseh because of her family roots there. Fallin explains, in a 2008 OSU "oral history" interview that can be found on The Oklahoman website:

Well, I was actually born in Warrensburg, Missouri at the Whiteman Air Force Base when my dad was in the Air Force. They had grown up in Tecumseh, Oklahoma which is where I’m original from but my dad had gone into service and had left home for a short time to go to Missouri to serve his nation and our nation. And so I was actually born on the base. And then after I was born we moved back to Muskogee, Oklahoma when I was about three. Lived there for about a year. Moved to Tulsa. Lived in Tulsa until I was about five. And then we moved to Tecumseh, Oklahoma which is where my family really is from. All of his parents, my mother’s parents, where I grew up and attended high school and graduated from.

Lethal injection

[edit]

There should be some discussion of her role in the botched lethal injection controversy. Yes, this is a current event. However, many pages on politicians include a summary of their political positions and this is no different. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.58.65.223 (talk) 11:25, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Abortions

[edit]

Oklahoma governor today vetoes bill that would criminalize abortion. [1] Write in the article about it. M.Karelin (talk) 11:22, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Earthquakes

[edit]

I notice that this article does not mention Fallin's leadership and role with respect to the response to Oklahoma's earthquakes. This is definitely an addition that is warranted, in my opinion. There are other things that are missing as well; the education material could be updated to account for recent events, for instance. Master of Time (talk) 20:49, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
