Plot

[edit]

The plot reads like it's been copied from some promotional material or other, I think it needs to be changed to something more neutral.80.229.225.16 (talk) 23:42, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. I like when the plot is described in a detailed manner. The more detail the better. I would rather see more information in articles than less. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.251.227.210 (talk) 01:08, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was referring to the article as it was on the 12th April, when the Plot summary was very much like something you would read as a blurb or in promotional material, not a description of the plot of the movie. As it is now it is more of a description of the film. We now have the opposite problem, however, as it is too long and detailed and needs trimmed down a bit.80.229.225.16 (talk) 23:14, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I definitely feel this should be trimmed down. I came to this page to try and actually find out what this film is about. Obviously it is useful to me because I can either read nothing about the plot, or have specific plot elements spoiled. It seems ridiculous to me that Wikipedia movie and book pages are turning into a plot retelling service rather than a place to actually find a concise, non-spoiling synopsis. How is the current mentality useful at all as an encyclopedia? These detailed descriptions are the purview of specialized sites. 67.180.89.34 (talk) 00:13, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The plot sumary states that the operators of the experiments were working with "the baseless belief" - should the word baseless be removed? I did not feel that the experimenters felt that it was a baseless belief. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.235.200.87 (talk) 17:14, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

lucie's "creature"

[edit]

i dont go with the opinion, that lucies creature is a manifestation of the girl she left behind when she was a child. i think its much more a manifestation of her own felt torture and pain. much like a borderline personality or an eating disordered person referres to its illness as "a voice that is telling me to do bad things to myself" probably it all comes together, and the girl she left behind was the triggering factor. still, i think the demon is lucie herself and her inner pain.

The director has confirmed this interpretation, and it's pretty clear in the film, with Lucie repeatedly saying something to the extent of "I killed them for you, etc".--CyberGhostface (talk) 00:56, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

18+ certificate in France

[edit]

Is it certain that the film received an 18+ cert, or an -18 cert which means that absolutely no-one under 18 can see the film? -18 is usually reserved for extremely violent or sexually orientated films. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.255.125.120 (talk) 16:51, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It did but they appealed it and got a 16+.--CyberGhostface (talk) 17:45, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Divisive [sic]"?

[edit]

In Todd Brown's quote in the Reception section, why is "divisive" given a "sic"? It's not spelled wrong. Starvinsky (talk) 03:30, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
