I'll review this article shortly. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 03:46, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
Here are the issues I found:
- Ref #24 is a deadlink. - Luckily I archived it. - JuneGloom Talk 20:34, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- "Mark is a perfectionist, who puts his work ahead of everything else and he "struggles" to hold down a relationship because of it" not sure if having just the one word in quotes helps, the quotations could probably be removed. Done
- Has there been a discussion on what tenses to use in these types of articles? I ask since most of the character development section is in present tense, and there are sentences in there that should be past tense. I'm probably overthinking this because I know other articles have been written like this before, but it is iffy. - I did find WP:TENSE, which says "generally you should write about fiction using the present tense, not the past tense." But it also says "Conversely, discussion of history is usually written in the past tense and thus 'fictional history' may be presented in that way as well." Is that of any help at all? - JuneGloom Talk 20:34, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- It does help; I'll read over the tense again and see if it still feels iffy. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 03:50, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- "McGregor said that, while it is early days," not sure what is meant here at all. Done - Changed the sentence. - JuneGloom Talk 20:34, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- "McGregor shot his final scenes at the end of April and Mark will be seen on screen until June." last appearance can probably be noted and this modified to past tense. Done - Corrected, as he hasn't actually left yet.
- "Mark goesg to Harold's Store" goes Done
- "Mark then goes to Charlie's and he meets up with" he not needed Done
I'll put the article on hold and will pass it when the issues are fixed. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 03:40, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for the review. - JuneGloom Talk 20:34, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- After giving it another review, the tense seems to be okay, so I'll pass this article. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 15:37, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you! - JuneGloom Talk 16:15, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
Mark vs Brennan
[edit]I've just been wondering whether this article (and others) should refer to him as Brennan instead of Mark? Characters in the show, Digital Spy, Radio Times and various publications, like Inside Soap and TV Week, call him Brennan, probably because detectives are usually referred to by their last names. What do we think? - JuneGloom07 Talk 21:39, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- I'd refer to him as Mark. It's what he's still called on the official website--5 albert square (talk) 12:50, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
- That's one source compared to the four/five I've mentioned above though. Many of the characters in the actual show call him Brennan and even his spin-off was called Brennan On The Run. - JuneGloom07 Talk 00:32, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
