Doesn't anyone have information on Mardi Gras parades outside New Orleans? I know that they are common all along the Gulf Coast in Mississippi and Alabama. We were told, when we moved to the Biloxi area, that the celebration of Mardi Gras originated in Mobile, AL. I know that personal observation isn't acceptable in an article, but the "throws" we saw in one of the Biloxi parades this past year included Moon Pies, small stuffed animals, garters, and ramen noodles, as well as the more common beads, coins, and plastic cups. (Would a party supplies store "throws" ad be sufficient verification?) TrailingSpouse98 (talk) 01:25, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
