Split suggestion

[edit]

The section An Illustrious Predecessor would be better split into a seperate article. The content bears little relation to the current vessel. Philphos (talk) 13:42, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree splitting this item would be worthwhile: the 1927 Ben-My-Chree was one of the Dunkirk Little Ships - it rescued my father. I would be happy to do the work creating a page for it when I have time. Mike Holt, UK —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.0.55.18 (talk) 18:54, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Article about the 1927 built Ben-my-Chree created, article updated. Philphos (talk) 10:20, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Flagship

[edit]

According to the wikipedia article, a flagship is the "largest, fastest, newest, or for publicity purposes, the best known".

As the HSC Manannan is the fastest, newest and features prominently in the companies brochures am I right in thinking the Ben-my-Chree is no longer the flagship? Philphos (talk) 10:31, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Probably not as the Ben-my-Chree is the only Steam Packet vessel which operates a regular all-year-round service. Mannanin is effectively a peak-period vessel only, and likely to be leased out at other times. As for age, both vessels date from 1998 Olddemdike (talk) 01:38, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:
