I feel like the lead should be expanded slightly to summarise the whole article per WP:LEADLENGTH. Some more content could be added here, for example viewing statistics and after-match reactions? I'm also surprised that the exact date of December 9, 2017 isn't mentioned in the lead
"and was contested by 22 teams in two conferences" - what is a conference referring to here? Try to link this term for unfamiliar readers
"and Sebastian Giovinco suspended for yellow card accumulation" - why not just say that he got suspended for receiving two yellow cards?
"Toronto traveled to play Columbus Crew SC, earning a 0–0 draw on the road and a 1–0 win at home" - sounds a tad informal, how about just away?
I think we can safely get rid of the Ticketing subsection and just merge with the Venue section
Two paragraphs of the Post-match section begin with "Toronto FC". Also I think it might be better to merge these paragraphs into two if possible, for readability and presentation

Placename in infobox

It's extremely silly to see "Toronto, Canada" on an article about a sporting event hosted by Canada. Yes the league may be primarily American, but this particular edition of the MLS Cup was hosted in Canada and contested by a Canadian team. WP:CANPLACE also states "If American states are present, for example, use Canadian provinces and territories as well.", and as other editions of the MLS Cup also include the state of the host city, this should apply uniformly here. It's highly unusual to have "Toronto, Canada" in American English (which should be used here alongside Canadian English per WP:ENGVAR). The following American websites use "Toronto, Ontario" or "Toronto, Ontario, Canada": MLSsoccer.com, SoundersFC.com, The Oregonian, Yahoo Sports/Reuters, Orlando Sentinel. It's actually quite common to have it. 59 times on MLSSoccer.com alone. Usage depends on the subject. I was just editing a Costa Rican international footballer's article and the US states are piped out, so they list "Orlando, United States" and "Carson, United States", etc. The league itself is American.
