Forgive me for asking this as I am not well versed in nor edit in the sports area, but why is it that our policy only warrants announcing stuff like this big NBA trade in extremely certain circumstances after long periods of time? Not an ego trip! I'm a Laker fan so despite losing AD, I'd take this trade in a heartbeat. Ultimately though, Wikipedia has rules and policies that must be followed.

Whenever you see trade headlines like this, they actually translate to "Team A and B have agreed in principle." They're still filling out all the paperwork and until everything is signed, there's always that slim possibility that a trade can fall through. @Adolphus79: The edit request is a proposal to add the names of other traded players to the lead section. Davis and Christie don't seem to be related to Doncic's core notability. Their connection to Doncic is rather incidental and flash-in-the-pan. My view is that such details are fine for the body (where it is already mentioned), but undue for the lead.
