Moved to Lookin' Out for Number 1 (Bachman–Turner Overdrive song). This is an unusual discussion as the initial proposal provides no set target and the discussion covers a range of options. However, there is a discernible consensus to change "No." to "Number", which is implemented, and an absence of consensus to remove the parenthetical (with a well-argued opposition to such a change). Although it is highly likely that a Laura Branigan song should be moved, this would best be accomplished through a move request implemented specifically on that page. Lookin' Out for No. 1 (Bachman–Turner Overdrive song) → ? – The article and its refs use "#1". Is there a work-around for this on WP? If not, shouldn't we spell it out as "Number 1"? — kwami (talk) 05:19, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Relisting. - This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:40, 7 July 2020 (UTC) —
- Relisting comment: This needs some serious tweaking. Looking Out for Number One is currently about a single by Laura Branigan that charted at #60. Lookin' Out For Number One is a redirect to the album on which the subject of the article under discussion appeared. There is also Looking Out for Number One (Travis Tritt song). Should we perhaps perhaps have a DAB? In any case, the current situation needs some work. Andrewa (talk) 08:42, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Andrewa: I've put together the start of a DAB at Looking Out for Number One (disambiguation). I think that should go to primary over the Branigan song (moving that to Looking Out for Number One (Laura Branigan song)), which is less-known compared to the Travis Tritt song (no clear primary between them). A lot of redirect spelling variants can then be pointed to the DAB. -- Netoholic @ 01:10, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: I have relisted the discussion, this is third relist in total. If there is no agreement by the next seven days, high chances are the discussion will get closed as "no consensus". Regards, —usernamekiran (talk) 07:44, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
- Move to Lookin' Out for Number 1 - I guess in the choice of options between "No." and "Number", I'd prefer the less obscure version which directly spells out the symbol, and which aligns closely with the idiom it is named after ("look out for number one"). This matches the handling of an album by Brothers Johnson which is at Look Out for Number 1 which has the same issue regarding "#". -- Netoholic @ 23:55, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
- Move to Lookin' Out for Number 1 (Bachman–Turner Overdrive song) - I agree on changing "No." to "Number", but I'd prefer keeping the parenthetical; since there's at least two very closely titled pages (Looking Out for Number One (Travis Tritt song) and Looking Out for Number One), my preference would be to move Looking Out for Number One to Looking Out for Number One (Laura Branigan song) (like it's written on the dab page) and then moving the new dab page to Looking Out for Number One and redirecting all of the relevant variations of that title there. - I weakly support this, and had considered it myself. I think the truncated "Lookin' " and the use of the numeral "1" is enough to distinguish, but I do definitely see cases where its too close to other titles. -- Netoholic @ 05:35, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
Comment I had closed this discussion as no consensus. I seem to have overlooked some points. I have reinstated it for another closure. Regards Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 16:35, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

Lookin' Out for Number 1 → Lookin' Out for Number 1 (Bachman–Turner Overdrive song) – Per Talk:Age Ain't Nothin' but a Number (Chi-Ali song), use of an aporstrophe versus a g is not a sufficient disambiguator. This reverts an undiscussed move from May 2021 * Pppery * it has begun... 16:38, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- Comment The article was formerly at Lookin' Out for Number 1 (Bachman–Turner Overdrive song) following a 2020 RM. It was moved without discussion in 2021. @Tassedethe: 162 etc. (talk) 21:43, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- Comment My bad. This could be speedied as clearly there was previous consensus that my edit ignored. Tassedethe (talk) 21:49, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
