Fair use rationale for Image:Long Away audio cover.jpg

[edit]

Image:Long Away audio cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:00, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Long Away performed live with Freddie Mercury?

[edit]

Having a recording is the only way we can say for sure whether a song was performed live or not. However over the years, photo scan of reviews talking about the show at Saginaw had emerged and they all suggest that it was indeed performed. Sometimes reviews could be wrong with the songs' name, like "Light Man" instead of "White Man" but 3 reviews from 3 different people all claimed that "Long Away" was performed. It can't be a coincidence. Can we really say for certain that it wasn't performed with Freddie Mercury? Not to mention, the article in https://www.queenlive.ca/queen/77-01-13.htm was written on the basis that no recordings of "Long Away" (Live) is circulating at a time when those photo scans have not emerged yet. Can we really use the quote "Long Away was rehearsed before this tour (as confirmed by Brian in an interview later in the month), but it was never played live." as evidence that it wasn't performed in 1977? Especially when the same website also states "Three reviews (1, 2, 3) of the show all confirm that Long Away was performed at this show, almost certainly for the one and only time. Freddie presumably took on the lead vocal." in https://queenlive.ca/queen/77-01-20.htm. That's why I am editing the article and changing the wording to unsure whether it was performed or not. 219.78.110.97 (talk) 09:21, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
