Not 100

[edit]

LG was filmed two weeks prior to his death by David Attenborough, who said he was about 80. The first source in the list, the PlanetArk.com one, reckons he was between 50 and 80, so not even that old, particularly. I think the reference that states he was 100 is trying to add a human interest angle, and made an assumption that all old tortoises are centenerians. He was lonesome, the last of his kind, and he died having just been filmed. These lead you emotionally to the idea he was very old, but it's not really true. Actually it was filmed just 14 days (fortnight) before death, according to Sir David Attenborough's documentary "Galapagos 3D" (2013). -Bobbylon (talk) 23:31, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WoW reference

[edit]

http://www.wowhead.com/npc=66658/lonli-guju was placed in World of Warcraft in memory of him. I'll leave whether or not that belongs in the article up to others. 67.10.113.107 (talk) 23:04, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Many articles have a section called 'In popular culture'. I'm not a Wikipedian, so maybe you need a source specifically saying it's a homage to George, but I'd say it's a good edit. //erik.bramsen.copenhagen — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.83.153.106 (talk) 09:24, 12 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Cause of death

[edit]

Cause of death is described as "suspected cardiac arrest". Cardiac arrest is not a cause of death, it is the technical term for when the heart stops beating effectively - aka death, and happens whatever the cause of death. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:BC55:ED00:8088:9DD2:A88C:6C36 (talk) 19:43, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
