File:LTYH FINAL POSTER for WIKI.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:LTYH FINAL POSTER for WIKI.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Redirecting

[edit]

I honestly thought that given the claims on this article, that it would have had sources to show notability out there. I ended up finding only about 2-3 sources that actually discussed the film beyond a 1 sentence trivial mentions, and none of them are really enough to merit it being kept as its own article. None of the awards are notable enough to count towards notability and none of them have really gotten any coverage. Since the director has an article, I've redirected this there. And have this changed to (2010 film)-only reason why I caught this was because it appeared on the page patrol after being edited. Wgolf (talk) 21:35, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Wgolf: We can move this to 2010 film and re-redirect, although at this point it might be better to just take it to AfD since it looks like there is someone actively contesting the redirect. None of the provided sources establish notability for the film, as the screening article is only a routine announcement of a screening and none of the awards are major enough to give even partial notability. Guidelines and expectations for notability have really only grown more strict since then, so I don't think that this would survive at AfD. Unless someone pulls a rabbit out of their hats at the deletion discussion I think that it's unlikely that this would close as anything other than a redirect or an outright deletion. IMO then change this one to 2010 film and change the 1983 film to film then-otherwise it just gets confusing. Wgolf (talk) 04:16, 28 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
