Since the description on the page is exactly how the category should function, I can't see any difference in purpose whatsoever. I have started adding the year articles to the category. dramatic 11:33, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But the list of years is specifically for the 'XXXX (Year) in NZ' whereas the category can have anything in NZ added to them, like the years in cricket that have already been done.
