1MW floor on list candidates

[edit]

I have set a minimum of 1MW generation capacity for power stations on this list. This is pretty arbitrary, but there needs to be a cutoff somewhere, otherwise you get the situation where either every power generation construction is listed, or private installations of some magnitude aren't listed, neither of which are desirable. I figure that 1MW is starting to contribute considerably to the generation capacity of the state as a whole. Webaware 06:41, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Add in locations?

[edit]

Can someone add in the locations? Most of the power stations listed already have them. It's a matter of transcribing it or is there a template somewhere? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.208.97.169 (talk) 08:57, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually most don't have them. Here is a list of the co-ordinates I have worked out from Google Earth for the Main Power Stations (or from Wikipedia where it has them). If that's an acceptable source, someone with the time (and skills) might like to add them in (and maybe double check them too).

I've mapped out the physical location of all the main generators in the NEM into Google Maps. Added the link to it in the "External links" section of the page. I've replicated the link into the corresponding pages for NSW VIC SA and TAS. Kerishd (talk) 06:02, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Birdsville power station

[edit]

The town of Birdsville started generating power from a small hydro-electric plant driven by the outflow of an artesian bore in the 1960s. In the 1990s it was converted to more efficient geothermal operation, which is still in service. Peter Bell (talk) 04:24, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
