Criteria

What counts as a "place"? This list contains a strange mix not only of towns & villages as I would expect, but also some houses, railway stations, railway lines, districts, councils, gardens, organisations (e.g. Blackpool Transport), schools, rivers, ... Probably some of these overlap with other lists. I think there ought to be some guideline over what to include & exclude. (As there are pages like this for every county, there should be some national guidelines.) --Dr Greg (talk) 17:00, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, some of these are not what I would expect to be in a list of places. I removed some that were obviously not (such as East Lancashire Regiment and Pendle Witches) but left others in the list, intending to discuss it. Similar additions have been made to List of places in Derbyshire; there is some discussion on that article's talk page. --Snigbrook ^(talk) 00:32, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
