Moving section for discussion

[edit]

I agree with the decision to remove this section from the article because the sources cited are dubious blogs. However, I'm moving the information here for further discussion because it may prove helpful should new resources be uncovered:

List of Cannabis Strain Names

[edit]

Can you please tell me why so many of the names have been removed? I am an active Cannabis smoker and I've sampled some of the best strains that exist be they Indica, Sativa or Hybrid strains, I've tried them so therefore can verify names if those strains I have tried. I look forward to your reply and I hope I may be some help should you need it. Kid Shamrock (talk) 16:16, 4 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please see our policies on verifiability and reliable sources. In short, personal experiences and user-generated content (like forums and blogs) do not qualify as reliable sources. The strains listed here meet general notability policies. Also see WP:DIRECTORY; we don't exhaustively list all strains for the same reason we don't exhaustively list flavors of ice cream. I don't know if it was vandalism, or someone acting in good faith, but hundreds of entries got deleted that are cited in Los Angeles Times, a solid, reliable source for this type of article. I hope someone can straighten it out and restore the list. The Hammer of Thor (talk) 16:06, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
