Article or list?
[edit]The class assessment in milhist and ships suggest an article - but the lead sentence of the article says list - inconsistent. It has to be one or the other SatuSuro 09:51, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- Converted them to List class - but to be honest, the Assessment/Quality pages weren't much help on the syntax to use, nor the criteria on which to base them (for List importance). Have copied the details from the Current Royal Australian Navy ships talk page. PalawanOz 12:32, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. Changes make sense. Merbabu 12:43, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Article title
[edit]Since this is basically a list, the article will have to be renamed. I'll leave it to you guys so that I don't mess something up.-Wafulz 15:08, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- I propose to rename the article List of current Indonesian Navy ships - in keeping with a convention at List of current ships of the Finnish Navy. Will need to do something similar with Current Royal New Zealand Navy ships, Current Royal Australian Navy ships, and Ships of the Royal Netherlands Navy. PalawanOz 22:48, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- I agree we certainly need to incorporate the word ‘list’ into the title. I am yet to be convinced of the merits of the word ‘current’. Why? I note that having another article use it (ie, the Finnish example) does not make it a ‘convention’ and it doesn’t mean we need to follow it for the sake of following it. Use ‘current’ if it improves the article, but I don’t see how it does. Happy to hear your thoughts though. Regards --Merbabu 01:12, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- I think it is important to keep the word 'current' in there, to reinforce the fact that this is not a list of all Indonesian Naval ships that have ever been, but rather it reflects what is currently in (or about to enter) the Fleet. I think it is a useful distinction to make.PalawanOz 12:21, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, i'm not 100% convinced but I can accept it. I just remember other editors being against the word 'current'. cheers --Merbabu 12:32, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Then the title should be "List of current Indonesian Navy ships" per WP:SAL. So I second to PalawanOz. — Indon (reply) — 12:34, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm happy enough with that. When do we move? :) --Merbabu
- I'd suggest waiting a few more days - just to see if we get any more comment - this has only been up for discussion for a day now.PalawanOz 12:49, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Boeing Jetfoil Purchase
[edit]Sometime ago in the 1980's the Indonesian Navy purchased a number of Jetfoils from Boeing. Two for patrol and two for troop transports. Does anyone know what has happened to them as I see that they ae not on the list. Aquizard 15:01, 30 September 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aquizard (talk • contribs)
Too long table
[edit]The table location is in the lead, I think it should in the Body and break into Section due to it is too long, so it will make easy for readers by scrutinize them from Contents.Gsarwa (talk) 08:22, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
Fatahillah class article
[edit]There is a need for an article on the Fatahillah class corvettes. Also, while this article lists current Indonesian warships, there is a need for a location in which to mention former Indonesian warships as the older existing vessels are retired. Merging of new article into this article
[edit]Found an alternative article under the same heading created last year. Have merged the two, rather inexpertly. Have also started altering the format of the list to match the ones used elsewhere, notably the Royal Australian Navy list of ships, as it is more aesthetically pleasing and covers more data in less space.
Basically gotten to this point and worked out that its going to be a lot of work to redo the whole article, so I have left the parts of the old article at the bottom of this one. The format I have used so far to rework the old data can be seen at the section entitled "Surface Combatants".
If you can contribute to swapping over the data to the new format, much appreciated! If you have a problem or inputs to make over it, feel free to comment. PrimalBlueWolf (talk) 11:28, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

Missing Class
[edit]Um, I was looking at this page, and there is nothing about a Signa-class submarine. At least, not in English. It's in the Indonesian part of Wiki, I think, but I don't speak, write, or understand Indonesian. Can someone please fix this? Faithful15 (talk) 18:55, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Faithful15: I never heard about this Signa-class submarine nor can I find it on id.wiki .Do you mind to share the wikilink or other reference, so I can look it up and update it here. Ckfasdf (talk) 22:51, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
- Took me a while, but I found it. It was under Weapons Systems, in the Torpedo section. Here. Maybe you can make an article and summarize what it says. [1]http://id.wiki.x.io/wiki/KRI_Andau_(650) Faithful15 (talk) 14:49, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Faithful15: IIRC, "KRI Andau" is a Patrol boat with anti-Submarine capabilities, not a Submarine itself. There is no article for this boat or its class (FPB-57 class) on en.wiki, but we have article of boat of the same class, such as KRI Singa and KRI Ajak. Ckfasdf (talk) 09:38, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- Ooh. Well, thank you for clearing that up. Well, if you ever have a question for me, feel free to talk to me on my talk page. I can't garuntee I will know it or be able to dig it up, but it's the least I can do for someone. I owe you one, as we Americans say. Faithful15 (talk) 15:13, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
