When was the first season?

[edit]

In our season articles we introduced Co-drivers' championship tables just in 2011. Pelmeen10 (talk) 05:21, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Officially co-drivers' title was inducted in 2010, according with the official wrc.com site. See this: (standings in 2010 VS standings in 2009). This article is full of wrong informations--Lou6977 (talk) 07:59, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That is not enough, we need a better source. The sporting regulations would be better. Pelmeen10 (talk) 11:16, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, Juwra has regulations back to 2004 and 4.2 of the special regulations on the drivers championship mentions a title for co-drivers. I'm struggling to find any source prior to that. I wouldn't go off FIA or WRC web content or archived pages myself. PushingPace (talk) 18:10, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The French WRC article includes co-drivers back to 1979 with the drivers. Daniel Grataloup's FR page also mentions he is co-driver champion for 1993 although there are no citable references. I don't take that as fact, but it's amazing to me there is no information on this anywhere on the web, which makes this page important. I have reached out for clarification from the FIA, until then I have filled the table back to 1991 now and intend to go back to 1979, even if it's not necessary when I get a reply. Reply from FIA lists back to 1977, see article for the full explanation. The short of it is there is no official source to cite.

Table Columns

[edit]

I haven't filled in points and margin columns for the early years because it is painful and in my opinion not worthwhile. The points system has changed far too frequently and radically to make comparisons meaningful, and the number of events has spanned 8-16. I suggest removing these and including the driver(s) the co-driver sat with which I think is a lot more useful to most people. PushingPace (talk) 14:09, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
