Blanking and redirect of this article

[edit]

With this edit and using the explanation that they were Performing a WP:BLANKANDREDIRECT because the list does not pass WP:NLIST. Feel free to revert if you disagree with my assessment., user User:TipsyElephant redirected this article to the Casefile article. However, no attempt was made to merge the content of this list back into the Casefile article, despite that article referring to this list. Another user, had already reverted the edit before I came across the article, and I agree with that reversion. In my opinion, a blank and redirect edit amounts to article deletion by stealth, and the article's purpose as a list needs to be considered. The Wikipedia guideline WP:NLIST concerns a stand-alone list's notability. However, this list is a sub-article of the Casefile article, because the size of the list it has been spun off to avoid an undue weight issue with the list of episodes dominating the main article. The criteria for inclusion on this list is that each list item is an episode of the Casefile podcast. In essence it is a list of works that serves as a navigation list for topics covered by the podcast. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 03:53, 4 March 2023 (UTC) .[reply]

@Cameron Dewe: I opened an RfC that appeared to conclude that stand-alone lists of episodes must pass WP:NLIST and I have opened AfDs for a number of lists similar to this one that have been deleted relatively uncontroversially. I also left a notice on the talk page of the redirect target. I would prefer if you refrained from accusations and instead WP:AGF. Similar concerns regarding whether or not episode lists must pass NLIST have been raised in a few of the recent AfDs and I intend to open another RfC so that the issue can be discussed at greater length. If you would like I can ping you once the discussion has begun. TipsyElephant (talk) 12:14, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@TipsyElephant: My apologies if you have taken offence with my opinions and interpreted them as accusations; that was not my intent. I welcome the opportunity to scrutinize Wikipedia's processes and guidelines via a formal process. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 22:26, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
