Oliveros
[edit]What kind of partner isn't she supposed to be? Hyacinth 06:57, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
+++++ I am the one who has removed this statement before. My response to your question:
I believe you created the link for the word "partner", correct? The first few lines of said entry: "A domestic partnership is a legal or personal relationship between individuals who live together and share a common domestic life but are not joined in a traditional marriage, a common-law marriage, or a civil union"
Assuming this is what you meant, I will tell you once and for all your statement about Linda Montano and Pauline Oliveros being "partners" is false. Pauline has a wife/partner/significant other/whatever you want to call it - her name is Ione. They have been together for a long time. They have been married in Canada. Ione has a song named after her on the self-titled Deep Listening Band album. I know them both very well and am 110% certain of this. Sheesh.
Feel free to check any facts I've stated and I'll leave it up to you or another to remove this mis-information - I'm tired of removing this line only to see it reappear. I don't mean to come across as argumentative, but I do feel it is important to get the facts straight here. +++++
Oliveros and Montano had a relationship several years ago [1], but given that it was only brief, I'd imagine "former girlfriend" is much more acurate a label then "Partner" (which would imply a longterm relationship). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.247.166.35 (talk) 18:32, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

lindamontano.com mirror
[edit]This article's text is essentially the same as that currently found at the subject's website (link). At first, I thought this article might have been copied from there, but now it appears to have been the other way round. An edit in 2009 added most of the text as it appears today, with the edit summary "Updates as demanded by Linda herself" (which suggests WP:COI, although that's a different issue). Meanwhile, the lindamontano.com site does not seem to have used this same text until after 2011 (link). This suggests the subject's website is mirroring this Wikipedia article. As the site does not acknowledge Wikipedia, I have listed it at Wikipedia:Mirrors and forks/Jkl. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 22:23, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
"Lesbian Artists" & "LGBT Portal" inclusion without verifications?
[edit]This box has been up for over a year without the requested verifications added. I'm not saying that the woman isn't a lesbian because I just don't know one way or the other, but there's nothing to back up the article's inclusion in this category and at the LGBT Portal. Therefore, will somebody who knows how to do it, please remove the article from the "Lesbian artists" category and the "LGBT Portal"? (I couldn't figure it out.) Unsourced items about living persons require greater scrutiny, after all. Once such verifications are found, the article can always be re-added to that category & portal. ---
This article is in the category Lesbian artists, but no reliable sources are cited to verify its inclusion. Please help by adding references that support its inclusion, or remove the category link if none exist. (June 2012)
