Impartial tone

[edit]

Hello,

I have some concerns regarding this sentence in a previous version of this page:

The production of pig meat has raised criticism since the Torah prohibits the consumption of pork, which goes against the prevailing narrative of Israel as a "Jewish state".

The issue here is regarding WP:NPOV, Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. As I stated before, in describing disputes, Wikipedia's text must stay neutral (see WP:IMPARTIAL). I believe the phrase "goes against the prevailing narrative of Israel as a Jewish state" is a violation of this policy, since it is written in an accusatory, biased tone against the state of Israel. Whether the existence of a pig farm for human consumption invalidates the notion that the entire state of Israel follows Jewish teachings isn't part of the scope of this article. Additionally, the first part of the sentence already adequately covers this controversy. Therefore, I've removed the second part of the sentence. Ganbaruby! 16:45, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see how this is biased, and in particular, how it is biased against Israel given that the country promotes itself as a Jewish state. Number 57 20:18, 25 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
your response does not make a lot of sense my friend and since there is not citation on what you said and if affects the naturality of the article I have deleted it. Lifeisgood12345 (talk) 16:30, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
