Merger proposal
[edit]Formal request has been received to merge: La Tuque (census division) into La Tuque (urban agglomeration); dated: March 6, 2020. Proposer's rationale: Same subject. Pinging proposer @YanikB: discuss below. Richard3120 (talk) 17:08, 26 March 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose for now,
as the urban area article makes it clear that the Indian Reservations are not part of the area, while, contrarily, the census division claims they are.Unclear and confusing language makes this a wait and see. Tagged as such. Needs reconciliation before request can move forward. Regards, GenQuest "Talk to Me" 13:50, 2 May 2020 (UTC) - Comment Using three articles for this seems to be a complicated solution? If I understand correctly, we have
- La Tuque: the namesake town plus all the wilderness areas added in 2003
- The La Tuque (urban agglomeration), (which is actually an Equivalent territory): This, plus the demerged municipalities of La Bostonnais and Lac Edouard
- La Tuque (census division): The urban agglomeration plus the Indian reserves at Coucoucache, Wemotaci, and Obedjiwan
These distinctions can probably be explained in a paragraph in La Tuque, Quebec, no? Would deleting both articles be a better solution? 162.208.168.92 (talk) 18:46, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
